“Scents of Being” invites a playful return to the whimsical spirit of childhood and the nostalgia of folklore stories. Located in National Design Centre, it echoes how the past can shape the present. The storied site has housed cultural establishments such as Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (1995-2004) and the Chinese Opera Institute (1995-2009). It will continue to be a site of inspiration and encounters for learners, artists and creators with DesignSingapore Council (2014-present) and now the University of the Arts Singapore (2022-present).
